Sahara Trails’ AUSSIE BUSH TRAIL guide leads the way, while you sit back and relax on one of our well trained horses and enjoy the Aussie bush surrounds as we ride along the creek and through Casuarina Forest & Koala Habit. DAWSON TOURS- HUMMER TOURS

Tin City Sand Dune Adventure 9am, 1 pm, 5pm

Duration: 2hours

After an exciting 20 minutes drive across the sand dunes in the US Army Hummers you will find ‘Tin City’ emerging out of the sand dunes like a mirage! It all began in the late 1800′s when two tin huts were built to store provisions for shipwrecked sailors (there are some 98 shipwrecks between Newcastle and Port Stephens).

In the 1930′s Great Depression ‘Tin City’ grew to 14 huts. A number of movies have been made at this location, including parts of Mad Max. The pub still stands! Other activities on this tour are Sandboarding, visiting the ‘Pyramids’ and an old WWII site.

Sygna Shipwrek Advernture Tour – Departs By Arrangment

Duration: 3.5hours

An exciting fun filled 70 minutes drive along the beach and across some of the 35 metre high sand dunes, visiting ‘Tin City’, the ‘Pyramids’ an old WWII site with some Sandboarding and Pipi Catching along the way. We arrive at the Sygna Shipwreck a 58 thousand tonne Norwegian bulk carrier blown ashore in 1974 by strong winds on its maiden voyage

The whale watching season is from the end of May to mid November when over 11,000 Humpback whales swim past Port Stephens on their annual migration north along the Australian east coast to the warmer waters of the South Pacific Ocean. After breeding they migrate with their calves back to the Southern Ocean and the cold waters of the Antarctic
